This sauce is a huge classic in French « Bistro » cuisine, usually served with a « bavette » (grilled steak). Traditionally it is made with butter. But here is a non-dairy version of it, for those who can’t eat dairy.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups (100 g) shallots

  • 1.5 Tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Peel and finely slice the shallots. Transfer them in a small saucepan.
  • Add the olive oil and let it cook on very low heat for about 30 minutes and serve.
