Baked Chicory with Ham and Cheese

Chicory with ham and cheese make the perfect gratin.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicories (endives)
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 50 cl bechamel sauce
  • 150 grams grated cheese of your choice (gruyère…)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 410°F (210°C)
  • Rince the chicories / endives and cut the reddish end. Cook them for about 10 minutes in a steamer or in boiling water.
  • In the meantime, prepare the bechamel sauce.
  • Drain the chicories and roll each one in a ham slice and put them in a baking dish.
  • Add half of the grated cheese to the bechamel. Mix well with a whip.
  • Pour the Bechamel sauce over the chicories. Add the rest of grated cheese all over the chicories
  • Bake for about 30 minutes or until it gets a nice golden color and voilà! Serve warm.
