Ingredients

For the version using red wine

For the non alcoholic mulled wine (for AIP and paleo and of course for all of those who prefer non alcoholic drinks)

  • 250 ml non added sugar grape juice
  • 125 ml water

For both versions

Instructions

  • Transfer the red wine and maple syrup (or grape juice and water) to a sauce pan along with the cinnamon stick, orange zest and cloves. Slice one orange and add it to the sauce pan. Let the whole thing cook on medium heat for 20 minutes.
  • Strain the mulled wine (I like to put a strainer over a large bowl to avoid making a mess) and transfer it into a heatproof glass mug.
  • Slice the second orange and cut the slices in quarters. Add the orange slices to the mug to decorate. You can also add the cinnamon stick to the mug. Et voilà! Serve hot.
