Spaghettis with tomato sauce made with pantry ingredients

Here is not exactly a recipe but more an idea of what you can do with pantry ingredients. As surprising as it could be for some, if you choose canned or dried ingredients with no added chemicals or sugars or anything, this recipe is not unhealthy.

Spaghettis with tomato sauce

Prep time




  • 7 oz (200 g) gluten free spaghettis

  • 7 fl oz (200 g) canned tomato coulis or canned tomato : read the ingredients on the can there should be only tomato or maybe some salt but that’s it, no added chemicals or sugar or whatever.

  • 1/4 onion or 1 shallot if you have some, peeled and sliced

  • 1 Tbsp canned, dried or frozen mushrooms

  • 2 Tbsp olives and/or a small can of tuna

  • pinch of dried oregano or dried basil

  • 1 tsp olive oil


  • In a big saucepan, cook the spaghettis according to instructions written on the box
  • In the meantime, in a small saucepan, pour the olive oil and add the onion or shallot. Let it cook for 2 minutes on medium heat before adding all the other ingredients. Let the sauce slowy cook until the spaghettis are cooked.
  • Drain the spaghettis once they are cooked. Tranfer them on a plate and pour the sauce on top. Et voilà.
